County Worker Wins VISA Gift Card Services Drawing

When Dave was thinking about financing a vehicle, he rejoined the Credit Union. "The rates here are very competitive, better than any bank I checked." Dave ended up financing his Harley Davidson by using a vehicle title as security. He's glad he came back to CPECU. "It's great here. Everyone's very helpful and the customer service is friendly and convenient."
Dave is a Deputy in the Sheriff's Office, and he won the monthly drawing for signing up for new services.
Congratulations, Dave!

For The 3rd Year CPECU Paid Bonus Dividends & Loan Rebates:
A 3.00% Loan Interest Rebate was paid on member loans for 2009*
A 14.00% bonus paid on members' savings dividends thru 3rd Quarter 2009**
While other financial institutions struggle to survive, we are able to provide these bonus dividends because:
CPECU is financially secure, efficiently run, and fiscally responsible to serve you.
We don’t pay out huge executive bonuses - our earnings go back to you.
Our Board of Directors & Audit Committee are volunteers - members who serve without compensation or expensive perks.
Where else will you receive loan interest rebates & bonus dividends on savings?
Only CPECU!
Thank you for being a member & for your support.
We look forward to serving your financial needs for many years to come!
* Rebate applies to loan interest paid thru 4th quarter 2009 for accounts still open on 12-31-09. Members with delinquent loans will have their rebates applied to their loans. Interest on CPECU VISA Cards excluded.
** Bonus dividends apply to dividends paid thru 3rd quarter for accounts still open on 9-30-09. Bonus Share dividends apply to Regular Share Accounts and Share Certificates only.
Share Draft Processing Reminder
All Share Draft processing (paper items and drafts) will take place before 3:00PM on the same day that they are received. Please make sure that all deposits are in your account before your drafts are processed.
Overdraft Advance Now Up To $500 On CPECU Checking Accounts
A special program called "Overdraft Advance" for members ages 18 years and older with a personal share draft account open for at least 90 days is now active on your account.. Overdraft Advance provides a cushion that will permit you to overdraw your account up to a maximum of $500.00, including a $30.00 fee for each item presented. By paying your overdrafts in this way, you eliminate the potential embarrassment of having a share draft returned and the unnecessary third-party fees.
Be Careful! Identity Thieves Are Everywhere!
Identity theft occurs when someone uses your personal information, such as your name, Social Security number, credit card number, or other identifying information, without your permission to commit fraud or other crimes.
Identity theft is a serious and growing crime. People whose identities have been stolen may spend months or years and a lot of money cleaning up the mess, clearing their good names and credit records.
In addition, victims could lose job opportunities; be refused credit, education, or housing; and even be arrested for crimes they didn't commit.
Be careful online: Phishing is online identity theft. Do not release personal information online unless you positively know who you are giving it to. Also, CPECU will never call, write, or e-mail you for account verification.
If you think your identity has been stolen, here's what to do:
• Contact the fraud department of one of the three major credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your credit file.
• Close the accounts that you know or believe have been tampered with or opened fraudulently.
• File a police report. Get a copy of the report to submit to your creditors and others who may require proof of the crime.
• File your complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC):

• Visit www.consumer.gov/idtheft for info & a complaint form.
• Call 1-877-IDTHEFT & speak to a trained counselor.

In this world of easy information exchange, you must be protective of your information. Please take steps to prevent becoming a victim.
