Please
Be Aware Of Federal Regulation D Transaction Limits
Federal Regulation
D states that for all Share Accounts, no more than six (6) preauthorized,
automatic, telephone, or Internet transfers and/or withdrawals may
be made from each account, to another account of yours, or to a
third party in any month, and no more than three (3) of these six
(6) may be made by official check or access card to a third party.
Please Note: These limitations
only impact electronic transactions and do not affect in person
transactions.
CPECU is now charging a $20.00 fee for
each item over the monthly limit.
If these transaction limits present a problem, please open a CPECU
Share Draft Checking Account where there are no limits on these
transaction types. Thank you! |

Worker Wins VISA Gift Card Services Drawing
|
|
When Dave
was thinking about financing a vehicle, he rejoined the Credit
Union. "The rates here are very competitive, better than
any bank I checked." Dave ended up financing his Harley Davidson
by using a vehicle title as security. He's glad he came back to
CPECU. "It's great here. Everyone's very helpful and the
customer service is friendly and convenient."
Dave is a Deputy in the Sheriff's Office, and he won the monthly
drawing for signing up for new services.
Congratulations, Dave!

|
| A
special program called "Overdraft Advance" for members
ages 18 years and older with a personal share draft account open
for at least 90 days is now active on your account.. Overdraft Advance
provides a cushion that will permit you to overdraw your account
up to a maximum of $500.00, including a $30.00 fee for each item
presented. By paying your overdrafts in this way, you eliminate
the potential embarrassment of having a share draft returned and

Be
Careful! Identity Thieves Are Everywhere!
|
Identity
theft occurs when someone uses your personal information, such as
your name, Social Security number, credit card number, or other
identifying information, without your permission to commit fraud
or other crimes.
Identity theft is a serious and growing crime. People whose identities
have been stolen may spend months or years and a lot of money cleaning
up the mess, clearing their good names and credit records.
In addition, victims could lose job opportunities; be refused credit,
education, or housing; and even be arrested for crimes they didn't
commit. |
| Be
careful online: Phishing is online identity theft. Do not release
personal information online unless you positively know who you are
giving it to. Also, CPECU will never call, write, or e-mail you
for account verification. |
| If
you think your identity has been stolen, here's what to do: |
Contact the fraud department of one of the three major credit bureaus
to place a fraud alert on your credit file.
Close the accounts that you know or believe have been tampered
with or opened fraudulently.
File a police report. Get a copy of the report to submit
to your creditors and others who may require proof of the crime.
File your complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC):
|
Visit
www.consumer.gov/idtheft for info & a complaint form.
Call 1-877-IDTHEFT & speak to a trained counselor.
|
| In
this world of easy information exchange, you must be protective
of your information. Please take steps to prevent becoming a victim. |
